In the course of discussions between Umelco and Mr. Anthony Royle during his last visit to Hong Kong, it was suggested that Mr. Edward Heath might be invited to visit H.K., and Mr.Royle undertook on his return sound Mr. Heath out.

I have since received a letter from Mr.Royle informing us that Mr Heath would be happy to visit at the end of this year or in January 1970.

We have consulted H.E. and obtained his advice.It is now decided to treat this visit as a special one, and to have him over in January 1970 (Date at his convenience)

I shall be grateful therefore if you will invite him on behalf of the Unofficial Members of Ex.Co. and Leg.Co. and inform us in due course of the dates he has selected.

My warm personal regards to Beth and self Cynthia joins. Trust this finds you both well.
