explain in general terms the significance of these documents.) These documents are instructions from our superiors. The contents are concerned with enquiries being made by the Police about our workers. The superiors aro in Taiwan. After receipt of the documents they were circulated amongst our colleagues to find out whether they concerned them. If not, no action would be taken.

I do not know whether similar documents have been sent to other

units. From these documents it was said that there is no indication where the information came from. (Shown Exhibit 'C', No. 85 and asked to explain its significance.) This document was sent to us by our superiors in Taiwan. It is an instruction from the National Security Bureau to the No. 2 Section of the K.M.T. Party to inform them of any action taken by the Hong Kong Police against their agents. It is to inform the Supervision Section of the National Security Bureau. At that time when I received this document there was no second instruction giving contact arrangements which there usually was. About a month later after receiving this document I went to Taiwan. In Taiwan I made enquiries from the comrade who was responsible for sending this document and I asked him for contact arrangements. The comrade told me it was a routine matter. He looked through the files and gave me an address. I wrote down the address at that time but now I cannot remember it except to say

that it was Z Business in Gloucester Road. When I was questioned

by the Police about the address I could only remember 2 characters out of 5. So I wrote down 5 characters, A, B, C, D, and E. As far

as I remember 2 of these characters form the name of the Z Business. If I had information to pass to the Supervision Section, I would send a note in a sealed cover and deliver it to the address given at

Gloucester Road to a man named LI. I knew LI's name before but I

cannot remember it now. I have not received any contrary instructions

about passing information to the supervision section.
