Agreed Minute on "rade

between the United Kingdom and the Benelux

Countries

Representatives of the Government of the United Kintdom of

Great Britain and Northern Ireland and representatives of the

Government of the Fingdom of the Netherlands and of the

Government of the Kingdom of Belgium (acting also for the

Government of the Grand Dudy of Luxembourg) convened in

in order to discuss arrangements for trade between the United

Kingdom and those territories for whose international relations

the Government of the United Kingdom are responsible (hernafter

referred to as "Dependent Overseas Territories" on the one hand

and on the other hand the Netherlands and those territories for

whose international relations the Government of the Kingdom of

the Netherlands are responsible, Belgium and Luxembourg

(herinafter referred to as the Benelux countries). They reached

the following understanding.

2. The application of the provisions contained in this

Agreed Minute to Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles shall be

subject to the approval of their respective Governments.

approval shall be understood to have been given unless the

Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands within three months

from the beginning of the period of validity of this Agreed

Minute, or from the beginning of each subsequent period of

validity if this Agreed Minute is automatically renewed, shall

have notified the Government of the United Kingdom to the

contrary.

3.

In respect of products which are still subject to import

quota restrictions the Government of the United Kingdom will

approve imports from the Bonelux countries, and the Governments of

the Benelux countries will approve imports from the United

Kingdom and its Dependent Overseas Territories, during the period

of validity of this Agreed kinute, in accordance with the quotas

shown in the Annex to this Agreed Minute.
