CONCRETE VIBRATORS
The Thor range of concrete vibrat- ors was extended recently with the in- troduction of the American-made Mo- dels ELVW and EHV, driven by 1 and 4 h.p. electric motors respectively. Both operate at speeds up to 12,000 v.p.m. Weighing 10 lb. 8 oz., the ELVW allows the user to reach tightly-rein- forced pours, narrow walls, prestressed sections, beams, columns, and sills. It has an efficient cooling system, a pro- tected on/off switch, and comes housed in a heavy cast-aluminium case mea- suring 81⁄2 in. long by 6 in. wide by 521⁄2 in. high.
Suitable for use with flexible shafts measuring 1 ft. 6 in., 5 ft. and 10 ft. long, the unit will power four sizes of head: 1, 14, 12 and 1% in. in diameter. The whole assembly, including a lft. 6in. shaft and a lin. head, weighs 19 lb.
The Model EHV comes in versions for 115 and 230V current, accepts 5, 10, and 20 ft. shafts and 1%, 2-5/8 and 3 in. heads. It is housed in a cast-

aluminium casing which incorporates an integral handle on the top, mea- sures 1 ft. 31⁄2 in. long by 6 in. wide by 10 in. high and stands on two pivot-mounted runners.
When spread outwards in their nor- mal supporting position, these runners increase the overall height of the unit by 2 in. and the width by 4% in. Pivoted inwards, they meet to form a single-handled lifting grip to which a shoulder strap can be attached. The total weight of the unit, with a 5 ft. shaft and 1% in. head, is 5 lb.
Both vibrators are supplied as stand- ard with a matt-green finish. The flexi- ble shafts all feature casings of rein- forced-spring-steel wire braid, oil tem- pered and covered with Neoprens.

ROOF PROTECTION
A fibreglass-reinforced aluminium roof system that resaturates, protects and aluminizes in a single-step appli- cation has been introduced by The Monroe Co., Inc., 10792 Quebec Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Plasti-Dek aluminium contains sili- cones, plasticizers, fibreglass strands and aluminium particles. It is sprayed or spread on with a brush or squeegee, Its brightness improves through ex- posure to sunlight, and by reflecting the rays of the sun, it reduces under- roof temperatures by up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
TRACTOR SHOVEL
Latest addition to the growing line of articulated Michigan tractor shovels, the Model 85 now available from Clark International Marketing S.A., Construc- tion Machinery Division, Benton Har- bour, Michigan, USA, utilises many of the advanced design characteristics of the big Michigan Model 475.
Powered by a General Motors 6V53N, 216 h.p. diesel driving through an all Clark power train comprised of torque converter, four-speed forward and reverse power-shift transmission, and planetary axles, the 85's operating speeds range from 3.7 to 25.4 m.p.h. (6 to 40.9 km/hr). Available buckets range from 3 to 4 cu. yds. (2.2 to 3 cu. m.) capacity.
To provide maximum power for excavating breakout, and raise, lower and dump times of 6.7, 3.4, and 1.6
seconds respectively, the shovel fea- tures a hydraulic system comprises of two 6in. (15.24cm) diameter double acting boom cylinders, and two 4.5in. (11.43cm) diameter double acting buc- ket cylinders. Two 3.5in. (8.89cm) diameter double acting cylinders pro- vide power for steering.
Three gear type pumps, each with its own relief valve, drive the three hydraulic functions.
BANK SLOPER
A new Model HBS-TD20 6ft. hy- draulic bank sloper with increased pro- duction and more precise grade control capabilities for all International TD20 tractors has been announced by ATECO, 9131 San Leandro Street, Oakland, Calif. 94603, USA.
The sloper has been designed for single pass efficiency in the toughest cuts with a large heavy duty hydraulic controls providing an infinite range of blade angles from 15 to 85 degrees to meet any slope ratio required.

which is constructed of high-strength alloy steel. Standard size cutting edges are used for quick replacement.
A 2ft. blade extension is available for extra production and longer slopes. Brackets, valve and piping kits are also available so that several tractors can be fitted to take the sloper.
RAINWATER SYSTEM
The rigid p.v.c. Merex rainwater system offers a choice of 3, 4 and 5 in. gutter sizes, together with a corres ponding range of 2, 22 and 3in. down pipes.
Gutter components in the range include 6 and 12ft. gutter lengths, connecting brackets, angles and stop- ends. There are also nozzle and drop- end fittings which fulfil the same functions as the connecting brackets and stop-ends except that each in- corporates a full-bore spigot outlet in the base, designed to fit into the socket end of a down-pipe.
