TRADITIONAL Islamic concepts have been effectively welded into the bold, clean-limbed architecture of the contemporary school with the new mosque recently completed for the University of Malava in Kuala Lumpur. Prominently sited at the entrance to the university campus in Pantai Valley, the mosque stands alongside the main road from the Federal capital to Port Swettenham and is one of the first sights to catch the eye of visitors making their ar rival along this highway.

The design of the mosque is strikingly simple and admirably con- ceived. Mounted on a rectangular turfed platform, raised a few feet from its spacious. five-acre site of landscaped and gently sloping lawns.
