SEAFRONT APARTMENT BLOCK
A20-STOREY block of flats to be
built at a cost of M$2.000.000 on Meyer Road, alongside Katong Park and on the sea front, will be the tallest (280 feet high) in Singa- pore when it is completed.
Standing on a three-acre site, the new apartment block has been design- ed in this way by the architect, Mr. Ang Kheng Leng, in order to achieve the greatest possible use of the land while allowing ample space for park. ing cars, for pleasure gardens and a playing field area.
In the block will be 114 flats, six on each floor, and a roof garden. Each flat will have a balcony over- looking the sea.
Each flat will consist of a large living-dining room, kitchen and or dinary offices, a small study room, and two bedrooms each with bath- 100m containing a long bath, attach- ed.
Construction will be in reinforced concrete and exterior walls will have mosaic or high quality tile facings to a height of five feet.
Tenders have been called for the construction and work is expected to start shortly.
