Ramp approaches and piers will be built of reinforced concrete and the bridge span of pre-stressed and pre- cast reinforced concrete, a modern form of construction which lends itself to this type of work and will speed up construction.
Footbridges for pedestrians will be attached to the flyovers. A skew bridge will also be built between the Lower Peak Tram Terminus and a point north of the Y.W.C.A. building to span the track of the Peak Tram.
Related to the road scheme, im- provement of Garden Road itself will be carried out and new ship roads will be built at important points within the area.

This will be followed towards the end of this year or at the beginning of next year by the construction of the other section of Kapok Drive together with the flyover over Queen's Road East.
This work will overlap with the construction of a flyover in Garden Road at its junction with Queen's Road Centrai which should be com- pleted at the end of 1966,
Construction of the proposed fly- overs at Upper Albert Road and at Lower Albert Road and other road works related to the Garden Road Complex will follow later in stages.
Following completion of the overall scheme by about 1970, congestion caused by traffic entering and leaving the Central District is expected to be relieved despite the increases in traffic during this six-year period.
