decided that their head offices at 100-102 Robinson Road, Singa- pore, should be a physical expression of а modern progressive finance company, their architects were faced with the problem of converting a small pre-war load bearing structure to meet these requirements.

The existing building was a three- storey structure with a building area of approximately 40 ft. x 90 ft. An additional storey was required and for this a new mezzanine floor was
