13,200 sq. ft. Planning of the interior spaces is governed by the theme of flexibility and spatial fluidity. Aluminium framed partitions are freely used to make for flexible planning of the various rooms and offices, and to achieve a continuous flow of spatial quality the mezzanine and the flight of stairs are enclosed in glazed panels.

The entire ground floor is of con- crete slab. Entrance and foyer are laid with marble finish while the sunken basement level is terrazzo tiled.

The new mezzanine floor is con- structed of timber joists on RSJ's, the finishing material being vinyl tiles. The upper two floors have the same finish on the existing timber floor.

Aluminium Panels

One object

object of replanning the offices was to convey a sense of con- fidence and security externally. This has been achieved with a deep fascia finished in gold mosaic and a solid wall at the entrance tiled in black Italian marble.

Above the fascia the complete facade is covered by a sunscreen made up of 3ft. square black anodized aluminium panels.

Internally the brickwork is mostly plastered and painted. The internal partitions are of black anodized aluminium frames, with either glass or timber infill. Ceilings generally are of sprayed vermiculite.

The staircase near the entrance comprises carpetted timber treads on RSJ supports. Enclosed in its glazed aluminium framed wall, it spirals gracefully from the ground floor to the mezzanine.

The air conditioning system in- stalled is a packaged system with the plant room situated at the rear of the building. Ductwork is concealed within the roof and floor space.
