equipped with an automatic speed ad- juster which increases the speeds during rush hours to handle larger numbers of people. A fire prevention system will be installed on every floor and a detection system will give warn- ing of rising temperatures in any par- ticular area of the building.
Parking space for occupants of the building will be provided in a separ- ate five-storey building to be con- structed at the rear of the main build- ing. It will contain space for more than 250 cars.
Apart from the third floor level, which will contain a nightclub and restaurant, the entire tower block will be devoted to offices. Accommodating about 3,000 office workers, the block will be fully air-conditioned from a central cooling system.
The developers are planning to add a further floor to the tower to pro- vide an additional nightclub and res- taurant where diners may enjoy pan- oramic views of Bangkok and its sur- rounding plain.
The podium floors will be show- rooms and shopping arcades, includ- ing banks and department stores. Fur- ther banking facilities will be located in the basement.
An apartment block is to be erected on an adjacent site to house the staff of companies occupying the tower block.
The Chokchai International Build- ing is estimated to cost about 30 mil- lion baht. The site, which is in the centre of the business area of the city, cost the developers about 6 mil- lion baht.
