A supernumerary post of Colonial Secretary is provided for nine months during the secondment of the substantive holder to Singapore.
Three posts of Cadet Officer and four posts of Executive Grade Officer have been provided as an addition to the overall leave reserve for these two grades. One additional post of Cadet Officer, four posts of Executive Grade Officer and additional secretarial and clerical staff have been provided to cope with the increased volume of work.
The four new posts of Houseboy, Boy, Cook and Amah are provided for the Colonial Secretary's official residence.
The four new posts of Office/Workshop Assistant are offset by a decrease of four
posts of Clerk.
These changes, together with normal increments, account for the increase of $322,280 in the vote for Personal Emoluments.
Under Special Expenditure, provision is made for additional office intercommunication equipment. Provision is also made for the expansion of the Government art collections.
