FROM ROZA BROJ. Silver prices dropped yesterday to the extent of 1/16 for Rendy and 1/8 for Forward, the quota- tions being 21.3/4 and 21.5/8 res- pectively. Silver advices report- ed the market as being quietly steady. American Billver quoted at 34.3/4 for Spot.

The London-New York cross- rate, was quoted at 402.1/2 New -York/London was quoted at 398. 7/8.

No business was reported. There were sellers at 1/8.78 February/ March, buyers at 1/220/92 Cash and 1/2.7/8 May.

NEW YORK COTTON: Favourable opinions regarding the com- modity control measure encouraged more commission house demand and spinner buying which met with scarcity of offerings. Genera! news was constructive. We are still of the opinion that July op- tion will eventually attain 10.75,

"NEW YORK RUBBER: Akron estimates are that domestic con- sumption will total 600,000 tons during the year, as against about 579,000 tons in 1939 and that for the first quarter, will be between 150,000 and 155,000 tons, while foreign consumption is expected to run around 35,000 to 37,000 tons monthly.

CHICAGO WHRAT: Sub-zero weather conditions in Europe caused some concern and the market closed firm on liberal decrease In the terminal markets.
