Hong Kong, Dec. 17. The price for Ready Silver was $1,810. unchanged yesterday but the For- ward rate dropped 1/4, the quota- tlons being 18 11/16 and 18 1/18
advices respectively. Silver ported Bears covering. for Spot against their forward commit ments. After the official fixing the market was quietly steady owing to scarcity of stocks, Ameri ca bought for Spot but business was small owing to lack of supply. Subsequently forward sales by In- dia were accepted by the Contin- ent and America. American Sll- ver was quoted at 44 3/4 for Spot. The London-New York cross- New rate was quoted at 499.75. York-London was quoted at 499.-
