Oak Bay. (Mr. W. H. S. Davis) and Gladiator ran side by side for three parts of the race but after the Rock was passed Bear Claw moved up and ran together with the two leading ponies. Then at the Dis- tance Post Wild Life came up like a streak and challenged the leaders strongly, eventually winning by a head.
