Silver prices rose 1/8 yesterday for both deliveries, the quotations being 20 1/16 for Ready and 20 for Forward. Silver advices' reported India and speculators as having operated both ways. The market. was steady. After the official fix-

but predominated ing there was no pressure to sell. Towards the close the market firmed up owing to some American and Indian „support. American Silver was unchanged at 441 for Spot.

The two bright features of the week are Docks and Steamboats. The first have been dealt in up to and over $19, and there are still buyers. for market opinion ex- pects further appreciation. Steam- boat shares have suddenly come into the limelight and bids of $8.25 have, so far, failed to at-9/32. tract sellers.

New Goldfields of Venezuela are active, and have local buyers at $7. Raubs, also are in enquiry at $13.
