STATE LOAN IN AUSTRIA
Trade Stimulation Ambitious
Vienna, Feb. 8." The issue of a state loan of 180 million schillings, the proceeds of which will be used to stimulate in- dustry and thus provide employ- ment on an extensive scale has been decided upon by the Schusch- nigg Government acccording to a communication made by Fin- ance Minister 10 pressmen Saturday,
The loun will issued at 90 and bear interext at 41 per cent, but 54 million schil- ings will be used to redeem short- term treasury bills issued to ba- lance the 1936 budget.
A sum of 17 millions will be employed to cover investment in the current year, 22 millions for equipment of the Austrian army. 23 millions for road building, and considerable amounis for con- tinuing the electrification on the most important Austrian railways. The loan will be repayable in 30 years and will necessitate an in- crease in debt about 11 milion schillings which will be covered by the increase of stamp duties.
The Finance Minister also told reporters that the Austrian Gov- ernment is determined to liqui date the 1930 international federal loan, but that international con- versations would first be neces- sary.-

It is pointed out that most of the air lines in this country are losing money and that their aircraft fly an average of 500 hours a year, they should be in the whereas ar at least double that time for economical use. The Committee propose 器 scheme whereby a number of services would radiate from a junction and so give connections to all the dis- tant stations without through ser vices to any of them. By this means a route mileage of 2,900, which would be required to link these places independently, could be reduced to 960 miles.
