NEWS FROM THE WATERFRONT

Freight and Asiatic Passengers Returns

A (BY LONGSHOREMAN).

The freight returns, received from the Harbour Office, during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday. showed a fairly high tonnage movement, a large oro portion of which being made up by British ships.

The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony was 6,712 tons, with British steamers carrying 439 tons.

Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony amounted to 19,345 tons of which 10.024 tons were carried by British steamers

Asiatic deck passengers entering Into the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday were 777. of which 282 were from British' steamers.

There were altogether fourteen arrivals, of which six were of British registry, the remainder being of other nationalities, while of the 16 departures, eight were British ships. the rest being of other different countries. culars as follows:- Nationality
