KING FUAD'S
FUNERAL
Hong Kong Daily Press" Specia}
Cairo, Apr. 30.
The mortal remains of the late King Fuad of Egypt were laid at the last resting place on Thursday in the Mosque El Rifa at the Gates Of
Cairo, built by the Monarch himself some years ago. The whole population showed signs of pro-
found grief. Countless thousands followed the coffin borne on a gun- carriage.
Immediately behind the coffin walked the representatives of the deceased King's successor nameir young King Farouk's unde. Prince Mohammed Ali and Premier All Maber Pasha, and next to them were the other members of the Royal House and Cabinet Ministers
The British High Commissioner. Sir Mics Lampson and the entire diplomatic Corps followed. Among the great number of wreaths was one from the German Chancellor, placed on the carriage by his de Duty, German Minister Baron von Stohrer, who recently only narrow- ly escaped death himself when he was lost for five days in the Sabark. King Farouk is expected in Alexandria on May 5. The Re- 13gency question, which according to the Constitution, must be settled by Parliament within Ave days, 15
