During the 24 hours ended at 9minary meeting of the Committee her commander, Capt. Bir Edgaram yesterday, the freight returns of Loyd's for 1935 Mr. Neville

Britten, commodore of the line, found a large number of letters of congratulation awaliing him upon his appointment to command the Queen Mary,

He stated that he regarded it as a great bondor to have the pri vilege of commanding what would be the finest ship in the world, and added: "I have not seen the Queen she was launched Mary yet, as .when I was at sea, but I have seen a beautiful model of her in New York."

The wireless message announ- cing his appointment reached him on Saturday afternoon. It was handed to him on the bridge, and came as a great surprise. Con- gratulations were conveyed to him a cheery by the passengers at function arranged by Sir William Acland after dinner that evening. Among the wireless messages of congratulation that he received he specially valued one from King Edward VI. Grammar School. As ton, Birmingham, his old school.

He spoke of his five happy yeara in the Berengaria, and said he would leave the ship with great regret. "I have a fine star here. and I hope they will come with me," he added.
