Bank Of England's Action

(Special Air Mail Service)

London, Nov. 4

The following important state- ment was issued by the Bank of England:

Arising out of the visit of Sir Frederick Leith-Ross to China the Governor of the Bank of England. has set up a committee on which the following gentlemen have been good enough to consent. to serve:-Lord Alness (chairman), Mr. O. J Barnes, Mr. E. Allan Cameron Mr. Maurice Hely- Hutchinson and Mr. Charles Hendry.

The purpose of the committee is to provide an organization which will be available in case of need to negotiate on behalf of the bondholders of Chinese Govern ment, railway, and other loans. with a view to the protection of their interests. The committee will be at liberty to co-opt fur- ther members.

The joint secretaries of the committee are Mr. John Chaplin. and Mr. W. E. Leveson, to whom communications may be addressed at 9. Grace-church Street, London, E.C.3.
