Police Forbidden To Use Arms

Special to the "Hong Kong Dally Press" (Copyright).]

Cairo, Nov 20, An order forbidding the police to make use of firearms has been 18sued by the Premier in his ca-

pacity of Foreign Minister of the Interior, and the Cabinet have de- c.ded to open investigations into the incidents during the recent disturbances which resulted in three students being killed by the police. Complete order now pre- valls throughout the whole coun- try according to an official state- ment.

The entry in to the desert where the most important military bases and bases are situated, has been prohibited by the Director General of the Frontier Administration, and there will be a special permit which will be issued only in ex-

ceptional cases.

!

The prohibited zone is the area between the Libyan frontier and a parallel line 360 kilometres east; of same, and all the territory run hing East to West, 600 kilometres south of the Mediterranean coast. As a protest against the emer- gency decree affecting the press which was issued a few days ago, and the attitude, of the Egyptian Cabinet to the British policy, no 50 ot. Arablan papers will be published on Thursday, according to a de- cision made at a conference of their proprietors.
