Arising out of the visit of air Frederick Leith-Ross to China the Governor of the Bank of England has set up a committee on which' the following gentlemen have been good enough to consent. to Berve:--Lord Alness (chairman), Mr. O, J. Barnes, Mr. E. Allan Cameron Mr. Maurice Hely- Hutchinson. and Mr. Charles Hendry,

The purpose of the committee is to provide an organization which will be available in case of need behalf of the to negotiate on bondholders of Chinese Govern- ment, rallway, and other loans, with a view to the protection of their interests. The committee will be at liberty to co-opt fur- ther members.

Uncertain, at the opening with idications of easiness but later Tu-acted closing at lunch time on the steady side.

Opened with sellers at 1/5 0/16 for cash with business done at 1/5 5/16 for November followed by transactions at 1/5 3/16 for De- cember. The market then re-acted and transactions were arranged at 1/5 for first half of December and December, 1/5 for November and 1/5 7/16 for cash. The mar ket closed at 1. p.m. with sellers at 1/5 7/18 for cash. 1/51 for No-, vember, 1/5 5/16 for first half of December, 1/5 for December and 1/5 for January, buyers probably at 1/16 higher respectively.

Twenty Million Dollars A Year

". Singapore, Nov, 11. The sale of rubber and tin by Malaya to Italy will cease 114 week's time.

The export of these commodi- ties, and certain others, to Italy will be prohibited by a notice which is to be published in the Government Gazette tomorrow

Instructions to put this export and import ban into effect on Nov. 18 were cabled to the Gover nor from London on Saturday.

This means that the full mea sure of sanctions so far decided

upon by the League of Nations
