The London/New York cross- rate was unchanged at 4.91 and the New York/London, rate WAS also unchanged at 4.912.

Nominal. Opened easy but sub- sequently weakened considerably owing to a good demand partic- larly for forward deliveries.

Business was reported shortly after the opening at 1/9 for cashi followed by transactions at 1/91 for„January, 1/8 for cash, 1/9 5/18 for November, 1/9 5/16 for cash, 1/0 1/18 for December, 1/8 15/16 for January, 1/8 for Jan. uary. 1/9 for near. 1/87 for near. 1/8 for January. 1/8 5/18 for November, 1/8 for cash, 1/8 5/18 for November. 1/8 1/16 for Jan- uary, 1/8 for cash and 1/7 15/18 for January, Towards the close the market re-acted and business was done at 1/8 7/16 for cash and 1/6 1/10 for January.
