The First Trial Game
The "T" Ladies commenced their hockey season on Saturday when they held ther first trial at King's Park, Quite a number of new players were tried and by their per- formance the "Y" Ladies are as sured of a very successful season,
Miss F. George, the only custo- dian, played a very safe game and has considerably improved upon her last year's display, while her s.ster, Miss W. George continued in brilliant form.
Miss M. Westcats was very much in the limelight, although there were occasions when she was often caught off-side. She has the speed and determination and in several weeks time should fit into the team very well
The outstanding players ware the backs, Mrs. Read, who is sing. ing a comeback, being particular. ly exective with good intercep- tions, while her clearances were ac curate and powerful.
Miss McCaw was also very much in the limelight and with Mra. Read should form the back division of the "Y" Ladies this season:

(BY "PLUNGE")
The Hong Kong Swimmers gained a meritorious victory over Shanghai in the Interport swimming contest by 57 points to 30 The Gnal night's competition was more or less a clean sweep for Hong Kong. Hong Kong came in fire in al of the five remaining events' and once again several records were shattered. Chan Chan. Hing smashed the 53 yards Free Style Interport and Colony Records by returning the splendia time of 25 seconds dead. This was one of the closest finahes seen during the meet and there were many who differed from the decision given by the judges, contending that Ward came in just a litke ahead of Chan. From what I saw at the finish, hawerur, Chan beat Ward by touch.
Ed da Roza delighted his supporters 'by annexing the prem- ler position in the Diving contest, à position which he fully de- served on the night's d'splay. Lau Po Hei sent his followers wi'de. with delirium when he broke the Interport and Colony Records d'stance in the for the 100 Yards Back stroke covering the splend'd time of 69 seconds flat.
