If it were not for our increasing familiarity with well-authenticat- ed stories of Chinese bandits; some of the incidents In Capt.' Nyberg's account of his Chinese adventures might seem too fantastic to be true. Certainly fiction could not present more thrills.

THREE STARS AT THE QUEEN'S
With "Joan" At Her Best
Al "Forsaking
Others"--that mach-heralded film with Joan Crawford, Clark Gable and Robert Montgomery in the
cast, was shown for the first time at the Queen's Theatre on Saturday and it was indeed a graceful tribute to these three, great stars, that despite the many counter-attrac tions, so many people made their way to the Queen's during the week-end,
So far as the picture itself is concerned, I have not seen Joan Crawford give a better indication of what she is really capable of. This glamorous star was at her best and litle wonder too, for she has two of Hollywood's best actors
Gable and Montgomery-playing opposite her. The former plays the role of a devoted lover who reaps his reward in the end and "live happily ever after while "Bob" is more Hikeable than ever in the part of an ardent, but somewhat happy-go-lucky admirer. Charles Butterworth, as Gable's friend, provides the amusement and on the whole "Forsaking All

Chinese Superstition
"On the Dragon Seas" is a sailor's yard-spinning at its best. Ragnar Nyberg is, however, more than an accomplished teller of tales. He understands the Chinese character, appreciates the Chinese landscape, and has an eye for the beauty of a storm-swept sea. Or Chinese superstition he writes:
