THE AFFAIRS OF CELLINI
The Story Of A Great Lover, A Great Artist-The Most Charming
Rascal Of All Time
(By LEWIS ALLEN BROWNE)
Based on the motion plature by Bess Meredyth.
She saw Della, little more than a child, in the arms of Benvenuto.
The famous musician Giovanni Cellini, intended that his son, Benvenuto should also become a great musician, buj by the time the lad was 15, he had convinced his father that he was destined to be a goldsmith. An old relative prohesied this at his birth and also said that he would become a great lover. At 18, Ben- venuto war progressing rapidly. Cardinal de Medici offered to send Benvenuto, to Bologna to study music under a famous master. The lad was depressed, but he consented to go, knowing that the famed Capaletti, a gold worker, lived there. But before his departure he wanted to see Della Santini, a childhood, ac... quaintance,

They sat down together.

He turned and stared. His amazement was quite apparent, for It was no little child, this Della, standing there in the doorway, it was a young lady! At least, so it seemed to him. And as beautiful a mäiden as he had ever beheld, he told himself. A maiden ap proaching young womanhood, yet with the beautiful countenance of glorious and innocent girlhood. And a true "Toscana" was she, the perfect type of the Tuscany blonde.
"Della Benvenuto cried, unable,
to hide his amazement and sur- prise. How wonderful! And all the time I thought of you as a mere child."
Della laughed happily and there Was a rose Bush in her fair, dimpled cheeks at his indirect allusion to her coming maturity.
