A substantial increase of bust- ness last year, has been reported by the Chinese railways, the receipts 64 being in general higher than those of the previous year. According to the figures given out by the Ministry of Railways, the profits realised by the various lines were: Tientsin-Pukow, $3,000,000; Pel- ping-Sulyuan, $2,000,000. The Hu- nan-Hupeh, Peiping-Hankow and Chengtal Rallways have also en- joyed a prosperous year, but their figures are not yet available.- China United Press (hy Mail)
