Referring to the relationship be- tween the German Christians and the Catholics, the Reichsbishop declared, "We German Christians repeatedly declared our strongest opposition to indulge in the slight- est controversy in any form "what- ever with our Catholic fellow citizens I see in them our fellow citizens and would most gladly fight with them shoulder shoulder in an effort to create a TILAWA" new German being."

Mueller declared he wanted no- thing but to serve the Church, and people. Never, he said, would we have to experience, this hour had not the National-Socialism come to, stay and had not the German Christians been so faithful He added that he had come to realise the truth of Jesus' words "who He ig" not for me is against me."

ould thank from the bottom or his heart all those who for the past fourteen years battled for Qer- many's liberation.

Amid cheers and "hells” Mueller concluded that it shall be the watchword of the German Chris- tians that all they are able to do for the benefit of the Church shall be done for the glory of God, for the welfare of the Church and for the salvation of the German ped- ple add the Fatherland.
