NOVEL TRADE VENTURE

Fine Display Of Goods

Singapore, Sept. 4.

This is the age of co-operation. in every branch of human acti- vity the value of co-operation is! being appreciated more keenly each day. It is the spirit of co- operation that underlies the new and entirely novel venture of two local firms whereby they are en- abled to sell their wares in one shop.

In Raffles place, Messrs. Frankel Brothers and the Bata Shoe Co. have opened town branches, both firms being housed in a large room, separatel by two long show sses running parallel, the wares of Frankel's being sold on one side and the wares of Bata's on

the other.

Yesterday a large number of 16- cal residents were the guests of] the firms at an "at home" which was held in an ante-room.

Both firms have an elaborate display of goods on view. Pran- Kel's will specialise in crystal and silver ware and gifts of various descriptions and the Bata Shoe an en- Company have imported tirely new line of shoes. They have also established a chiropody departmerit.

The alterations to the interior were carried out by the General Contracting Company of Chulla treet, are in a cheerfully modern style..
