Lisbon Lane, Crawfords also came in for Madrid quite a demand, and changed | Milan hands late in the afternoon up to 844. On the other hand, Tele- phones and Electrics were easier, and a slight reduction in prices was accepted for both.

S.M.C. Invites Application For Debentures
Shanghai, May 25. The Shanghal Municipal Counci announced" yesterday that under the authority of Resolution V adopted at the annual meeting of ratepayers on April 18. it invites applications for $7,000,000 deben- tures in the Loan of 1934. The isque price is $1024 per cent.. and the rate of Interest 5 per cent. per annum.
The debentures in this issue - will be for Chinese standard. silver dollars, local currency, and will bear interest from the date of Purchase at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum, payable on June 90 and December 31 in each year, except that the first payment of interest will be made on Decem ber 31; 1934.
The debentures will be issued at. 1024 per cent, and will be redeem- ed at par under the operation of a sinking "fund on December 31, 1984, but may be redeemed at the option of the Council in whole or in part on December 31, 1944, or on any subsequent date subject to the Council giving six calendar months' notice in the "Municipai Gazette" and the public Press of Shanghal In the event of any partial redemption of the loan the numbers of debentures, to be redeemed will be decided by draw- ing
The property, of the Municipality and the yearly Municipal rasenne are the security for the payment

The A. O, F. Corn. has received the following report from their New York correspondenta, E. A. Pierce du Ch. The market has been virtually meaningless
Wheat: There was an early reaction due to another forecast of unset- tled weather and to realising before the holiday. Later, there was a rally as a result of a report that Russia was buying Argentine and Australian Bour.
Cotton: Early gains were loat on selling in Liverpool against New York, but the market rallied later on price-ixing and on rains in the Eastern Belt. In other sections of the belt the weather is clear.
Silver: The market was a repetition of recent markets, with an undis oloso principal chief payer, who, however, did not press the market.
Note: Today May 30th, being a holiday in the United States of America, (Memorial Day) all markets will remain closed for the day. Business Done: 880,000 shares.
