Norma Wires "Okay"
There is more news about Miss Norma Talmadge, the film star, who obtained a divorce from her husband, Mr. Joseph Schenck, the producer, in Mexico.
George Jessel, the Alm comedian, declared in an interview in New York (says Reuter) that he would ask Miss Talmadge to marry him as soon as she reached New York.
Asked when the event was likely to take place, he said, "I got a telegram from Norma yesterday. All it said was:
Okay I am on my way to-night,
exactly," added Mr. Jessel.
"I don't know what that means
"It is up to Norma to say when we will be married, but, between you and me, we shall probably be married within a year."
Miss Talmadge stated when re- ference was made to an alleged romance between her and John Gilbert, that she was not thinking of marrying again. Her lawyer declared: "Miss Talmadge is not interested in Mr.
any more.".

Lee won his first match as a professional player on Saturday night when, at Thurston's Hall in Leicester Square, he beat Inman in a fortnight's play, after receiving 2,000 start,, by 2,575 points. The success of the younger player, who won the Amateur Championship four years in succession, and was the holder of the British Empire 'Amateur Championship, was well deserved. The test, if not severe. was a good cne, and: although he
scoring Lee showed that he posses was not always consistent in his
ses the right temperament for this type of match play.
On the evidence of the scoring a level match might have provided a sterner task for the young protes- sional, but the real object of the match was to test his ability when opposed to a much more experien- ced player. In the course of the" fortnight's play Inman often play- ed almost as well as he had done when he was the leading match player of the time, but scoring methods have changed coristder- ably since then, and the modern player, assisted by the change from ivory to composition balls, has become a much more formidable scoring force.
Lee has learned the game in a really comprehensive way. What he requires now is more experi- ence. His open play usually is
