For May there were buyers for the first half at 1/6 3/32 and sellers at that rate for the second half of the month.

The A. O. F. Corp, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. Amusement atocks and bonds were the principal festure of the market. With an important week-end conference scheduled between the President and Members of Congress, .probably to outline the legislative programme for the remainder of the

session, the financini community took a waiting attitude.

Wheat: There was continuous liquidation of coarse grains. Com mission houses were good soilers. Buying support was poor and the volume, was light.

Cotton: Prices Buctuated within a very narrow range and traders are generally waiting developments at Washington.

Silver: The market was small, inactive and irregular. 43 lots were negotiated.. Business Done: 500,000 shares.

The large dimensions of the trade which is carried on between the United Kingdom and the Net- herlands invests the coming negoti ations with much importance.

Last year, British exports to the Netherlands represented a value of £12,480,000 and Britain's re-exports to the Netherlands were £1,975,000, while imports into the United King- dom from the Netherlands, totall- ed £18,359,000, Britain's visible ad-- verse balance withi Holland amounting to £4,404,000.· ́

In the previous year, when Im- ports from the Netherlands totall- ed £22,030,000, the adverse balance was $7,539,000, and in 1931, when British imports from the Nether- |lands reached a' value of £35,000,-. 000, the visible balance of trade was in favour of the Netherlands to the extent of £18,301,000.

In regard to trade with the Dutch Colonies in the East Indies, the United Kingdom adverse balance last year was £1,084,000,- having" bein reduced from £3,056,000, in 1933 and 3,291,000 in 1931
