SHOT
Incident On The Fatshan
A quarrel between two Indian. guards on board the s.s. Fatshan plying between Canton and Hong Kong, resulted in one of the men being shot with a service pistol while the other is at present held In custody.
A brief wireless message was received in Hong Kong last night to the effect that an Indian guard was wounded on board on the ves- sel's voyage from Canton to Hong Kong. When the ship arrived It was met by Police officers and ambulance men.
It transpired that at about 7.30 p.m. the two guards concerned fell out, it is not certain over what, as a result of which angry words passed, followed by a scuffle. One of the two disputants, Tagar Singh was shot in the chest by a guard Actually two shots were fired, but only one found its mark.
As soon as the necessary inves- tigation was completed the wound- ed mar was rushed to hospital while his assaliant was taken into custody...
Mr. P. Grant, Assistant Superin- tendent of Police, was one of the first to arrive on the scene, other police officers present being Det- Sub-Inspector Murphy, Det. Sub- Det: Inspector O'Donnevan and Sergt. Minty.
Inquiries at the hospital revealed
the fact that the condition of the injured man is not considered serious.

Coolie Dies From Injuries
A serious trafic accident occur- red in Pokfulam Road yesterday when lorry No. 285, travelling to wards Aberdeen at 4 o'clock in the afternoon got out of control and struck a tree on the left side of the road to swerve again and was 'smashed against a wall on the right of the road.
A coolle named Wong Kau was thrown from the lorry and was seriously injured. He died on the way to hospital.
