SHIPPING MOVEMENTS
The RMS. Empress of Japan arrived at Yokohama on January 13 at 1.30 p.m., left that port on January 14 at 9 am, is due at Hong Kong on January 20 at 5 am, and will leave for Manila at 5 pm, the same day.
The B, and S. Adrastus (from Manila) is "due to arrive here on the 15th inst.
The B. and S. s.s. Ixion (from Shanghai) is due to arrive here on the 18th inst.

It was stated in Newcastle recent- ly that the Chinese National Govern ment had placed orders for two vessels Wigham Richardson, Limited, Wall- with Messrs. Swan, Hunter and Bend, and for two other with that firm's associated company, Messrs. Barclay, Curie and Co. of Glasgow. The vessels will be between 6,000 and and 8,000 tons each.
