HOME TREATMENT

Satin, an old favourite, is being used a great deal this year, pro- bably because it sets so well on the cross, and all the new knick- ers, petticoats, nighties, chemises and, of course, brassieres, are cut this way

Another potion is to have all the main seams hemstitched. This is a pretty and quick way! though, of course the seams will not stand the same strain as they would if carefully hand-sewn

Nunsvelling is another material used for some of the nicest ling- erie sets. For up-country wear it will be found-warmer than" the silk, and there is nothing like it for making up "tailored" undies, and those with that very Jaunty air, made in a plain colour and bordered with a binding of a different shade.

The vogue for the brassiere- knicker set joined together is on the Increase since, a smooth, flat line can be got in front, and, in some cases, there need not be any elastic at the back. This, of course, is a tremendous boon when a very tight frock has to be considerad.

White is rather out of fashion for the moment. Its place is being taken by pearl pink, which has so Rttle colour mi and is so delicately tinted that it is, if anything, even fresner. looking than pure white.

There is one point, however, 1 should like to emphasise in deal- ing with underwear, ba dt; wool, rayon or cotton, and that is the importance of careful washing

If you take the trouble to wash your own: undies, or to have them Washed at home under your supervision they will last three times as long and you will feel justined in making them choice materials.
