QUEENSLAND COAL FOR
CHINA
The Queensland coal trade may send a representative to the East investigate the possibility of building up an export trade, and the Australian Government also send an officer. to co-operate with the other envoy, and to supply an official report to the Minister for Mines for Australia (Mr. J. Stop. ford).
Should representatives be sent from Queensland to Chine they will probably be asked to ascertain what the Chinese require ments are, and how much is likely to be paid for the coal. If it is found that Queensland production costs can be brought within that figure, presumably a bid for the Eastern market will be made.
