Mesars, Roza Bros. have for worded us the following exchange market report for yesterday:-
Silver prices dropped 3/8 over the week-end making the quotations 18 and 16.1/16 for Ready and Forward respectively. Silver advices report ed America and India as having sold. China and speculators bought The tone Was at the decline. steady, In America the rate was quoted at 35.3/4 for Spot.
New York advices reported tho opening rate at 450 and the closing rate at 4.31.1/4.
With the reception of the Shang- hai rate which was unchanged at 111 and the Bangkok rate which was put up to 134, other rates were lowered.

Quiet. The tone was uncertain at the opening but later steadied up following,Shanghai
Sterling.
There were sellers after the open- ing at 1/4.15/16 leading to business at 1/5 for September followed by transactions at 1/4.31/32 August, 1/4.15/16 cash and 1/4.31/32 Sep tember. Later sellers came out at 15/11/5 for cash resulting in business ut 1/5.1/39 August. The market closed at lunch time, with sellers ht 1/3 July/August and 1/5.1/32. Septem- ber, buyers at 1/5.1/32 July/August and 1/5.3/32 September,

The market opened with sellers at 31.7/8, buyers bidding 32 result ing in a small business at 31.15/18 for near delivery. Later the market firmned up and business was done at 321/10 for near and 38.6/16 Sep- tember. The market closed at lunch time with sellers at 321/16 for near, 32.1/8 August and 32.1/4 Sep- tember, buyers at 1/8 higher res pectively,

eased off with very little business passing hetween Banks,
Sterling.
In sterling business was done at 1/5:1/18 for September delivery, finishing with sellers at 1/4.31/32 July/August and 1/3 September, buyers at 1/18 higher respectively

The market closed with buyers at 32.1/8 July/August, and 32.1/4 Sep- tember, sellers at 32 July/August åt 32.3/18 September.
