London, Jan. 31-The unparallel ed stagnation in shipbuilding throughout the world is emphasised

in Lloyd's Returns for the year

1909.

The Returns show that, during the year, 207 vessels, of a gross tonnage of 726,891 groze wers launched, of which 187,894, tons wore for freat Britain and Ireland and the remaining 688,797 tons represented vessels built abroad.
