The next chapter of the introdue tion of Greyhound Racing opens at Manchester with the building of the Belle Vus Track. Sume thre thousand people, turned up on the opening night. Those three thous- and went away and carried with them the word that this new novelty was worth seeing. They brought others, and after the first week, the figures commenced to creep up, until, at the end of the season ten shousand spectatory WAA a thin crowd; and on popular nights, in favourable weather, every inch of the space 428 packed, and thousands were turned away could not get in. All this convinced the Greyhound Racing Association that they could go forward with ccnfidence to launch an ambitious programme which, commencing with the White City Track in Lon don, will eventually carry Grey- bound Racing into all the 'chzel centres of population in the Coun try. The Edinburgh trick of the G.R.A. opened in August was. fol. lowed by tracks at Birmingham, Leeda, and Harringay. Others are at Southend, Liverpool, Blackpool and Glasgow.

Those three' words are "People Like It.". Heaps of reasons, including, of course, the gambling, could be given to explain why, but that is not the point. The point is that they like Greyhound Racing, The cold facts of the ever advancing figures of the attendan- ces at the Tracks all over the world len vos no Joophole for doubt even to the most sceptical,
