WARSHIP SALVAGING NO LONGER PAYS.

seven years of work, salvage operations in Scapa Flow will be abandoned, according to a report published by The Times, which adds that the serapirow prices realised for the salvaged German vessels do DO longer even cover the working ex- penses,

So far, 32 ships of the scuttled German fleet have been brought to the surface and towed to the break-up yards. Of these, six were battlecruisers of 90,000

tons displacement. The remaining 14 ships, lying at a depth of over a hundred feet will be left to their fate,

EGYPT SALVAGE.

Brest. The Artiglio, is still lying at ber. moorings close to the root where the Egypt is submerged, but no frogress has been made with the work of recovering the gold.
