TO DANGER.

After an existence of nearly 100 8 years, the lighthouse on Maplin 33 Sanda, it is suggested, should be discontinued. Not that the light has outworn its usofuiness, but be cause the structure, it is feared, in not safe. The lighthouse was built in 1838 on piles screwed into the hand, but there has been a continual movement of these sands, and now some of the piles are uncovered, and are, therefore, considered to he unsafe.

Some 40 or 50 years ago there was built a new superstructure or tower, but the foundations are as they were first laid down, and it is regarding these that doubt is expressed.
