Meters Smit's powerful" sterma" tugs Zwarte Zee and Roode Zee: will take the Wellington. Dock from Wallsend, the latter tug being re- placed, in the English Channel by the Witte Zee. The deck will be in charge of Captain' Hart, the There master of the Zwarte Zec. will also be a crew housed on the dock itself to attend to the towage gear and other deck appliances.
The route taken by the dock will bo by Gibraltár, the Suez Canal, Indian Ocean, Malacca Straits, the Dutch East Indies, and Torres Strait between New Guinea and Queensland. In this last channel the tidal current is so strong that the dock will probably have to be anchored every six hours waiting for a turn of the tide to help it on its slow passage.
