INSANITY VERDICT,

At the Criminal Sessions yes terday, a verdict of "insunity.
brought by the jury in the WOR case of William Bowen, who was originally indicted for the murder of Lan Yu Yuk,,,at the Mental Hospital, on July 5.
The Chief Justice (Sir Joseph Kemp) thereupon ordered that the prisoner be detained at the Mental Hospital ponding His Majesty's pleasure.
When the indictment was read nut, the prisoner was not asked to plead. Mr. Somerset Fitzroy, who appeared for the Crown, intervened to say that the man had been under observation as to his mental state for some time, and in particular since the day of "the occurrence. There was very strong reason to believe, as a result of these obser- Vations, that Bowen was not in condition to plead. He would, therefore, ask that a jury be em panelled to decide this point.
