Mrs. McCormick secured the Re publican nomination by nearly 200,000 "votes over her opponent, Senator Charles Samue! Deneen, and as Illinois is almost entirely. Republican in sentiment her ulti- mate election is regarded as a prac tical eertainty.
But it was a great fight and as Mrs. McCormick calmly admitted when her success was announced, it was fought "with the gloves off."

Senator Lewis is expected to go after the damp vote while Mr. McCormick, will take a pro-Ad ministration "dry" attitude based on certain aspects of ber social work.
Yesterday's primary proved one of the most interesting contests in years. Feminists all over the United States are, elated over Mr. McCormick's victory over a Män who was twice holder of the Senate Best which she will now - contest with Senator Lewis.
