With ten races on the card to-day- and with the weather behaving pro- perly, there should be a fine day's apart for puntera at Happy Valley this afternoon. Entries have been good, and six of the ten races on the card being handicaps, good dividends should be seen.

The principal race on the card is the First Aggregate Stakes. I enn bardly say I anticipate a good race, at the presence of the Chinese owned President Hall, who ac- counted for Apollo in the Cham- plona, may drive away some of the However, in would-be starters. racing as in other sports, one can never be quite certain, and Pre- sident Hall may not win after all.. The prospects of this race are fully discussed below.

Hong Kong Benu may prove to be the surprise packet, as he has only f 147 pounds to consider, and on the whole I think he will win.
