Capt. D. Williams, from Wei- haiwei, buoy No. 040.-B. &. 5. He pleaded guilty but said that Fulda, German motor ship, 4,325 he was on his way from Kennedy | Town to Stonecutters when the strong wind carried him right out of his course. The officer in chargeTai of the prosecution confirmed the defendant's statement. The Magis trate consulted the chart and then remarked that even if there was a strong easterly wind it could not have carried the defendant so far..

Defendant was accordingly fined .895 or thres weeks.

The Marine Court. Quite a number of cases came up for hearing at Marine Court yester- day, but they were only of a minor nature.

The first case concerned a Chinese who was fued 823 with the alter- native of two weeks' imprisonment

on pleading guilty to hawking on board the sa. Sungshan Maru with- out a license.

Two mistresses of cargo bazte were each fined 83 for lying outside of five others already alongside the 6.8. Hirundo.

In the third case the. mistress of a passenger sampan had to pay $10 for carrying five, passengers in excess of her boats limit while the fourth offender, also Chinese, was fined $10 or 10 days for going on board the s.a. Tonkin without first obtaining a permit from the officer "on duty."

A Capsized Junk.

The Cheung Chau ferry boat, Sun Chan was on her way to Hong 28,884 Kong yesterday morning, and when

nearing Kennedy Town sighted. capsized jurk with four people clinging on to it.
