Yanomine Sabmo, the master of a Japanese Schooner, Isyuin Maru, was fined $10 or 10 days for anchor-Taims, ing off the Praya East reclamation instead of the dangerous goods an chorage, whilst there were 680 gallons of kerosaze on board.

Defendant pleaded guilty, but told his Worship that he had put into port to have a broken mast repaired. As the police were prepar ed to accept this excuse, the Hon. Coindr. G. F. Hole said he would. impose the nominal fine as above. In passing sentence, his Worship re- marked that the usual fine for such offences was $200.
