Thirteen vessels discharged 12,001 tons of which 5,290 tons were front three British ships. The best cargo return was from the 8.3. Kundu Mara with 3,350 tons of coal and salt from Tsingtau and Keelung. The 8.9 Niu Sang (British) from Sandakan was second best carrier with 2,705 tons of general cargo. Through freights amounted to 19,853 tons of which 2,880 tons were contributed by three British vessels, The 8. Gemma (Norwegian) wna best carrier with 9,431 tons of general cargo from Rotterdam and Manila; while the s.s. Tokushima Mars from Yokohama and Moji carried 3,950 ton.

Yesterday's Returns, Thirteen arrivals and twenty three departures were shown for the period ending at 0 a.m. yester- day, and although good, the general cargo returns were not so high as on Saturday.

Local imports from eleven vessels amounted to 10,904 tons of which 2,975 tons were contributed by five

British vessels.

The best cargo return was shown by the as. Nicht Mary with 3,780 tons of coal from Osaka; and the 8:8. Shun Chik (Chinese) with 1,800 tons of rice and general cargo from Saigon.

A wireless report was received yesterday morning from the master of the as wangse (Messrs. Butter- feld & Swire) to the effect that the vessel was ashore off Ping Hai Rock at Lat. 25.10. N., and Long. 19.17 E., with 3 feet of water in No. 1 hold, and in need of assist- ance. The as" Chenan 2-vessel of. the same Company is standing by, while H.M.S. Bruce has also gone te the slurp's assistance from Amoy.

Passenger Jumps Overboard. The master of the 3.3. Sul Sang which arrived from Calcutta and Singapore reports that a Chinese passenger named Leong Yan com mitted suicide by jumping over- board at 8.25 p.m. on October 14th. A lifeboat in charge of the second afficer was lowered but the man could not
