A total of thirty-six arrivals and forty-one departures were shown for the week-end ending at Am yesterday. Of these ten arrivals and thirteen departures were British. The general cargo returns for the week-end showed that the local imports. were good Rad through

The general cargo figures for the period ending at 0 a.m. yesterday showed a slight decrease from the previous day's figures but through: freights remained good.

Seventeen arrivals and twenty four departures were shown of which six arrivals were British und eight departures. British vessels were among the best cargo carriers. Cargo discharged for Hong Kong totalled 11,539 tons, and five British ships contributed 3,130 tons. The best. return was by the M.S. Rhein (German) with 2,157 tons. The as. Telemachus (British) was second best, with 2,100 tons of general cargo and sugar from Saigon

Cheung Tai, mistress of a passen- | ger sampan appeared. before Com- mander J. B. Newill, D.S.O., R.N., at the Marine Court on Saturday morning for committing a breach of her passenger boat licence by carrying a case of dry chicken as cargo. The defendant pleaded not guilty nad said that the case must have belonged to a passenger whom she had just carried. She had no knowledge of the contents of the case. A fine of 85 with the alter- native of five day's hard labour was imposed.

The master of the s.s. Fuen Sang which arrived here yesterday from Calcutta and Singapore reported that a Chinese deck passenger died from consumption at sen on the 20th instant: The deceased, whose name was Wong Kiang, was buried

"T.B." On President" Boat. The s.s. President Toft which ar- rived in the Colony on Saturday reports that a Chinese steerage pas- senger died from tuberculosis en June 20th. The vessel arrived from Seattle and Shanghai.
