JAPANESE VESSELS BEST CONTRIBUTORS.

The freight returns for the week- end showed heavy cargoes both for the Colony and for other ports. Japanese steamers were again the heaviest carriers. The number of vessels arriving was normal, with British topping the list.

During the 4 hours ended at 9 am on Saturday, ten vessels dis charged here. The total amount of general merchandise imported was 12,353 tons. Of these, three British steamers accounted for 7,675 tons The two best returns were shown
